As I am!

Luke 23 verse 32-43 blew me away! Jesus was tried and crucified. Two thieves were crucified with Him, one to the left and another to the right.... and as Jesus prayed to His father, to forgive men for they knew not what they did, one of the thieves, also condemmed to die said to the other thief " It is just that we have been crucified for we recieve the due rewards of our deeds, but Jesus has done nothing wrong". Looking unto Jesus, he said "Lord, remember me when you come into your kingdom". Verse 43 records that Jesus said unto him "Verily I say unto you, today shall thou be with me in paradise".

This man came to Christ just as he was. It was no secret that he was a thief, and what's more, he had been caught and crucified in the open. I believe he was at the lowest point of his life, with so much regrets and maybe just a few minutes more to live. What blew me away is the fact that all that did not stop him from looking unto Jesus and asking Jesus to remember him.

Sometimes, we are too quick to give up, we say to ourselves... Oh! I'm done for!.... I've gone too deep into the world.... I have even entered into all sorts of evil convenants.... Oh! my sins are too much... I've committed all the crimes in the book... I'm too ashamed!

You know the good news? If you feel this way, then it means you acknowledge your sins. Stop beating yourself over it. If Christ could save the bleeding thief on the cross, the same Christ can save you today, only if you are ready to come as you are!

  1. It is actually so amazing that our God is so approachable, if only we dare to reach out and talk to him. Remember Isa 1:18
    "Come now, let us reason together,"
    says the LORD.
    "Though your sins are like scarlet,
    they shall be as white as snow;

  2. Yes, if only we believe and are willing to take that step towards Him.
